LITTLE TRAITOR
Director: Lynn Roth, Israel/US, 2008, 89 min., Hebrew, English with subtitles
Based on Amos Oz's novel Panther in the Basement, this uplifting film captures the unlikely bond between a kindly British soldier and a spirited boy. Set in 1947 Palestine, before the birth of Israel, 11-year-old Proffy Liebowitz and his friends want nothing more than the departure of occupying British forces. While out after curfew, Proffy is seized by British Sergeant Dunlop. The chance encounter leads to a deepening relationship among ostensible foes. Featuring an exceptionally warm performance by Alfred Molina as Dunlop, Little Traitor will make you remember why you love the movies.

Best Feature at Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival; Audience Award Winner, Palm Beach International Film Festival

Generously underwritten by the Futerman Supporting Foundation: Sara Futerman, Daphne Futerman and Ira Jevotovsky, Peggy and Eli Futerman, Rina and Danny Chessin.
