The Human Resources Manager

In this quirky, seriocomic crowd-pleaser, a forlorn human resources manager discovers his own humanity while escorting the body of a suicide-bomb victim to her homeland. This adaptation of a story by celebrated Israeli novelist A.B. Yehoshua follows a motley convoy of characters who find themselves crossing a frozen post-Soviet landscape in their quest to return the body of a bakery co-worker who turns up dead.  Returning the remains to the worker's next of kin becomes trickier than expected for the HR manager, who embarks on a mission to honor a woman he never knew and grows to admire her.  Director Eran Riklis (THE LEMON TREE and SYRIAN BRIDE) poignantly approaches this story of social dislocation.
