No hearing aids can be seen because in El-Sayed deafness is not viewed as a handicap. The tranquility of the village is interrupted by one father's decision to pursue a Cochlear Implant Operation for his young son. His decision evokes debate in the village, threatening the tradition of coexistence between the deaf and the hearing.
